Who is Michael Scarpa?

This section will give you a bit more information about me. I am currently working as FX TD at Double Negative. You can find more information about my education and work experience in my CV.

As you might tell from the contents of this site, I am a very visually inclined guy and I love computer graphics. I am a very motivated team player and always appreciate the opportunities to share my work with others and to learn from their input. Although I am very passionate about my work, I know how to take a step back and look at it in a more objective way, allowing for other people’s suggestions to improve the team effort, even if that means dismissing something I might have worked hard to accomplish.

As a programmer, I am rather skilled in the design of software architectures and in writing re-usable code. I value documentation very much, so when solving a problem, you will often see me first thinking about and designing the solution, and then documenting my code while writing it. Also, I believe in the motto “A good programmer writes good code, a better programmer uses good code”, so I always look around to find good work to base my own efforts on, rather than re-inventing the wheel every time.

Another thing I appreciate a lot, is the opportunity to learn something new. Be that a new programming language, a new 3D modeling technique, animation tricks, whatever. I am inherently curious, so I rarely turn down a chance to satisfy that part of me. That’s also one of the great things about computer graphics: you never stop learning.

The best and easiest way to get in touch with me, is to drop me an email here:
